“Tuesday, 10:40­­”

people forget

that spring is yellow

too. the new leaves

force themselves

out of the trees,

drowsy from

winter’s sleep that

slinks away

on frosted feet,

leaving behind the

brown grass,

crinkling like lost

confetti that cuts

your sole.

it’s much like

autumn, autumn

in reverse, the

leaves falling up,

grass fading green,

birds flying back.
