"A poem that scares me." - 4/17/2018

"A poem that scares me."

I wake up.
I get dressed.
The pants are tight,
but that is how
they're supposed to be.
Big shoes, little tie,
thick watch, thin hair.
I kiss my spouse goodbye.
and drive to school (work).
I teach uninterested
children uninteresting
things; I eat leftovers
for lunch and a
vending machine bag
of chips for snack
(cheating my diet).
In the evening,
I cook dinner for
my spouse and my dog.
I call my parents.
Neither pick up.
I do a crossword puzzle
before I go to sleep.
